The chatbot gave you text. You needed a document.

Freelancers surveyed in 2026 still lost around 204 hours a year to admin even though 70% of them used AI for it — and the single biggest weekly drain they named was formatting documents. That sounds absurd until you notice why: drafting faster doesn't remove converting the format, rebuilding the same layout, renaming the version, and finding it again next month.

A chat window can't fix that, because what comes out of a chat window is more text. The work that's left is file-shaped.

• Reads what you drop in — Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF are all extracted to text the app can actually reason about. Upload a contract, a statement, a deck. Photos and scans too: a picture of a receipt or a scanned PDF is read by a vision model, legible text transcribed word for word. Even voice memos — talk into your phone, upload, and it's a verbatim transcript in whatever language you spoke.
• Writes real files back — a proper .docx with headings, lists and tables if you'll still edit it; a .pdf when it's final and you're sending it on; an .xlsx with a styled header row when you'll sort or chart it.
• Fills your own template instead of retyping it. Upload the invoice or report you already use, mark the changing bits as {{client}} , and ask for “this month's”. A Word template is filled in place — your logo, fonts and layout come out untouched — and the wording stays identical every month instead of quietly drifting. If a value is missing it asks you, rather than inventing a number.
• Converts between them in one click. Word → PDF, PDF → Word, spreadsheet → CSV and back. Pick a file, pick a format; the copy appears next to the original, which stays exactly as it was. Or just ask: “make that a PDF”.
• Any alphabet. Cyrillic, Greek, CJK and accented Latin come out correctly — not as boxes.
• On a schedule, if you want. “Every Friday, turn this week's notes into a client-ready summary” is a standing job, not a chore you remember.

You describe the job in plain words. The Terminal writes the app and puts an icon on your desktop.

Machine readings are labelled as readings. A scanned PDF is read page by page by a vision model, up to 8 pages — and the result says so, names any pages it didn't read, and marks anything illegible instead of guessing. Treat transcribed numbers as a careful reading, not gospel, and check the original for anything you'd sign.

Converting carries the text, not the look. A PDF made from your Word file is re-typeset — headings, lists and tables survive; the original fonts, images and exact page layout don't. Every conversion says what it dropped, and the original file is always still there to download as-is.

Translations and summaries are AI-quality, not certified. Excellent for understanding, internal use and first drafts; not for a document you'd stake a contract on without reading it.

Your files are processed by an AI provider in order to be understood, and that provider may retain the text. Don't point an app at anything you wouldn't paste into a chatbot — the privacy page spells this out.
