The deal
Last updated 6 August 2026. Written in plain language on purpose β if anything here reads as a trick, tell us and we'll rewrite it.
What this is
MYCOMPUTER.EXE is a hosted service at mycomputer.cloud. You describe recurring, text-shaped work in plain words; it installs βappsβ β autonomous agents β that do that work on a schedule on our server, draw their own windows, and notify you when something needs you.
By using it you're agreeing to what's on this page. If you don't agree with a part of it, the honest answer is not to use the service β and to tell us which part, because we'd rather fix it than lose you.
Your account
Your computer exists from your first visit, held to your browser by one session cookie, with the AI switched off. Making an account claims that computer: an email address and a password, or a Google sign-in.
- One account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself; anything done from your account counts as done by you.
- You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
- Use an email address you'll still have next week β the free credit is attached to it, and it's how we'd reach you about your account.
- We limit how many accounts can be created from one connection, and we block throwaway-address services. That's to protect the free credit, not to be difficult; if a limit catches you unfairly, email us.
What it costs
No subscription. A verified account starts with $5 of credit, and every agent run costs a fraction of a cent, drawn down from that balance. When it runs out you can top up by card through Stripe, who handle the payment β we never see your card details.
- How the price is set: we measure what your agents actually cost us in AI usage and charge a fixed multiple of it (currently 1.5Γ). Every figure you see on the desktop β per app, per run, your balance β already includes that. There is no second, hidden meter.
- Credit isn't money and doesn't expire while your account exists. It has no cash value, can't be transferred, and we can't pay it back out.
- Refunds: credit you've already spent is spent β the AI usage behind it is a real cost we've already paid. If something went wrong on our side and burned your credit, tell us and we'll put it back.
- If we ever change the multiple or the free grant, we'll say so on the desktop before it applies to you.
What the agents will and won't do
Some of this is a promise, not a setting β it's enforced by the system rather than by asking the AI nicely:
- Email is read-only, always. An app can read your mailbox, rank it and write drafts into My Documents. It has no ability to send, reply, delete or mark anything as read. You send things yourself.
- Telegram and Slack are draft-only unless you say otherwise. When you connect one you choose: drafts (the default β the app prepares, you post) or auto, where the app may post to that one channel. That choice is yours and you can change or disconnect it any time.
- Your calendar is read-only by construction. We fetch the .ics file you give us. There is no mechanism to add, move or cancel anything.
- Credentials never reach any AI model. Passwords and tokens you enter in Connections are stored server-side and used by our code, not handed to an agent.
- Agents only read what you point them at β your mailbox, your files, your calendar, and public web pages. They browse the web the way a logged-out visitor does: no signing in on your behalf, no paywalls, no bot checks.
What you can and can't rely on
The agents are built to refuse rather than guess β a scanned PDF is reported as unreadable instead of summarised, a template missing a value stops and asks, a calendar rule too complex to parse is flagged rather than quietly dropped. Every app window has a receipts button showing every tool call behind what it told you. We think that makes it unusually trustworthy for this kind of software.
It does not make it correct. Everything an agent writes is AI output and can be wrong, including confidently. Summaries, translations, rankings and drafts are for getting work done and forming a view β they are not legal, financial, medical or tax advice, and nothing here is a professional service. Read anything before you act on it or send it to somebody. If a decision matters, check the receipts and check the source.
Watching and alerting is best-effort. An app can miss a change, a site can block us, a feed can break, a scheduled run can fail. Don't make us the only thing standing between you and a deadline that matters.
Using it responsibly
Don't use the service to break the law or to hurt people. Specifically, please don't:
- point an agent at data you have no right to read;
- use it to send bulk unsolicited messages, or to harass anybody;
- try to get around the spending, rate or account limits, or to reach parts of our systems that aren't yours;
- use it to generate material that is illegal where you or we are;
- resell access, or run it as a backend for your own product without asking us first β happy to talk, just talk to us.
If an account is doing one of these, we may suspend it. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why first.
Your content, and what publishing means
Everything on your computer stays yours: your files, your apps' briefs and conversations, your Library, your drafts. We claim no ownership of any of it. We only use it to run the service for you β the details are on the privacy page, which is part of this agreement.
Two things you can deliberately make public, and nothing else:
- Publishing an app to the App Store shares its recipe β name, icon, the brief you review and edit at publish time, and its window design. Never your data, chats, files or connections. In publishing it you allow us to show it, and other users to install and run their own copy of it. You can unpublish at any time; copies people already installed keep working, because they're theirs now.
- Posting on the BBS is visible to everyone on the system, alongside your profile name and computer number.
We may remove anything published or posted that breaks the section above, or that we'd be embarrassed to host. There's no appeals process; there is an email address.
Availability, and honest limits
This runs on one server, maintained by one person. We aim to keep it up and we watch it, but there is no uptime guarantee, no support hours, and no service credits.
Two specific things worth knowing:
- There is a daily spending ceiling for the whole service, as a protection against runaway cost. If the whole system hits it, background runs pause until the next day and your apps will say so. Your own balance is untouched.
- We're developing this actively. Features will change, and some will be removed. If we're going to break something you rely on, we'll say so on the desktop rather than let you discover it.
We may suspend or discontinue the service. If we shut it down deliberately, we'll give you reasonable notice and time to get your files out β download is always available in My Documents.
Ending it
You can stop whenever you want. My Computer β Privacy β Format C:\ deletes your account and everything in it, immediately and without a recycle bin. You don't need to ask us and you don't need a reason.
We may close an account for the reasons in βUsing it responsiblyβ, or if it's been dormant for a very long time β with notice by email first where we can. Unspent credit isn't refundable in cash, as above.
If something goes wrong
We'll fix what we can and we'll be straight with you about what happened. But this is a low-cost service provided as-is: to the extent the law where you live allows it, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses β a missed opportunity, lost profit, or a deadline an app failed to warn you about β and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the previous twelve months.
Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer that can't be signed away, and we're not trying to exclude liability for our own fraud or for anything else that can't lawfully be excluded.
The service is operated from Germany. Governing law and the courts that decide any dispute: [operator's legal entity and country β to be filled in].
Changes, and reaching us
If we change these terms in a way that actually affects you, we'll say so on the desktop rather than quietly editing this page and hoping. Carrying on using the service after that means you're fine with the new version.
Questions, disputes, a complaint, or something on this page that doesn't match what you actually observe: info@mycomputer.cloud. A real person reads it.
